Southern Route ran on July 31st on Lenscratch.  An honor and delight for me.  I have been following Aline's post for a few years now and being among the wonderful photographers she has featured is encouraging.  Thank you everyone who has helped me move this series on to bigger audiences.

Pissing off the South.......the North, the West and people over the Big Pond.

MailOnline.com ran my series of Southern Route and it struck nerves.  Little did I know that turning over the work to a paper read by the masses would be sharing my work with people who would not really get it.  Only one or two people really saw the images.  Most have jumped to the same old conclusions.  The comments tell more about them than they realize.  I love how it has gotten people riled.  I guess it was MailOnline.com's intention.

So I was doing a bit of blog research for Watkins Photography director, Robin Paris, and visited one of my regular blogs, Southern Photography, and found John Walls had graciously reviewed my work appearing One One Thousand.  What an honor and pleasure to be featured on One One Thousand and then have John promote it.   I am now among big talent on both sites.

I grew up walking thru culverts to avoid crossing the highway or hiding from the kid who was IT.  To this day I am still icked out by the cobwebs, standing water and the deep, dank, darkness.

Scott Thode

Today my meeting with Scott Thode, Editor of VII Magazine, Former Picture Editor of Fortune, On the Advisory Board for Look3 - list goes on, garnered me a new edit of my Southern Route series.  Completed series or not (hence the last image) the information I received was huge.  Following is his suggestions and more imagery I've not shown before.

I edited Rebel Flags,  portrait with less connection and things not necessarily southern like "Dollar General" image (shocker).  Out of the 36 I put together for him here is the new sequencing and edit.
